NO is naturally made in your body, but as you age you produce less of it. NO is created in the body when you eat dietary nitrates. Examples of foods high in nitrates are beetroot, arugula and spinach. When you consume these dietary nitrates your body coverts this to NO in your stomach. Test Strips

The Patented Berkeley Test Nitric Oxide Saliva Test Strips show Nitric Oxide levels in the body in seconds.

Ensure you have not consumed anything 10 minutes prior to testing. Allow a minimum of 1 hour after your nitrate high meal or supplement before testing.

1. Place the test strip with ‘saliva here’ side on your tongue

2. Fold the strip over and gently press the 2 sides together

3. Separate and review your results on the test pad end against the Nitric Oxide scale

The Berkeley Test Strips show Nitric Oxide (NO) levels in the body through a salivary reading.

The strips are based on the well-established Griess reagent reaction, which is the current standard for publications evaluating saliva NO. The strips do not show nitrates, but the bio-conversion of nitrate to nitrite, which occurs in the mouth. Thus, if bio-conversion does not occur, NO is not generated downstream from the natural food or supplement sources of nitrate (NO3).
